12 for Life is a unique partnership between Florence City Schools and Southwire Company. Students are provided a work-based learning opportunity that allows them to earn wages and receive school credit for their work-related experiences. Students work either a morning or afternoon shift of four hours and attend Florence High School for core subjects. Student participation is determined by recommendations from the Southwire/Florence City School Placement Committee.

To apply, students must:

  • Be at least 16 years of age
  • Complete the Student Application process with their assigned counselor
  • Have a social security card and a picture ID
  • Pass a drug screening
  • Be referred by an appropriate educator
