COURSE CREDIT INFORMATION
 
CAREER TECH DIPLOMA ENDORSEMENT
Students may receive a Career Technical Endorsement on their diploma in any of these three ways:
  1. Complete three high school courses in a single Career Tech Program.
     
  2. Complete two courses in one Career Tech Program and one course in a related Career Tech Program.
     
  3. Complete two courses in Career Tech education, (same program or related program) and one course on the list of State Approved Related Other Courses

   
SUBSTITUTE COURSE CREDIT

 

A Health Education Credit is awarded for completion of:  Sports Medicine

Completion of three credits in the Health Science Program meets the graduation requirement of ½ Unit in Health.

Completion of Family Wellness meets the graduation requirement of ½ Unit in Health.


 

A Fine Arts Credit is awarded for completion of one of the following:
 

Commercial Art, Interior Design, or Graphics Art Technology
 


 

NOTE:  Career Technical classes may substitute for the Physical Education requirement!

 

DUAL CREDIT / DUAL ENROLLMENT

 

Students may enroll in post-secondary Career Technical Education Courses and receive credit while attending high school. 

 


 
ADVANCED PLACEMENT / ARTICULATION

 

Career Tech has agreements with colleges that allow students to receive college credit for many Career Technical courses completed in High School.

TECHNICAL PREPARATION

 

Technical Preparation (Tech Prep) is an educational program developed to guide students into courses and technical career programs, which will form a solid academic and technological foundation on which to build their future.  It is a program of study for students who desire to prepare for technical careers and it closely parallels to the college preparatory program of study.  Tech Prep is a combined high school/college program.
